I drew editorial cartoons on local, state, and national topics for the P-I’s Opinion page. Some topics were assigned by the editor, others were conceived and executed entirely on my own, with no editorial input ahead of my submission.

The editorial cartoons I draw were syndicated to nearly 300 college newspapers across the country by MCT Campus, an online college wire service.

Assigned responsibilities included page design and cover design. I also took the initiative in completely overhauling the magazine’s masthead and table of contents.

National award presented in 2010 by the Society of Professional Journalists for editorial cartoons appearing in a non-daily publication. My award-winning cartoons appeared mainly on my own cartoon blog, This Is Historic Times.

Awarded by the SPJ as part of their national student awards program. Winners must be awarded first place in a regional competition before advancing to nationals.
